We are a passionate group of individuals in our community who have come together to launch a vital project—the Love Philippolis Early Childhood Development Centre—aimed at giving our young children the best possible start in life.
The idea for this centre came from seeing many children from age 3 to 6 in our community who lack access to quality early childhood education. Statistics have shown that children with a quality Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD) background excel better at school. Without the right foundation in their early years, these children often start with a deficit. Most of these children are not able to overcome this disadvantage in their lifetime.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we want to change that by providing early childhood development education to ensure they are fully ready and equipped for formal schooling.
We aim to prepare children from disadvantaged communities not only for school, but for life. Equipping them with a love for learning, self-confidence, intrinsic motivation, respect and a sense of order through working with equipment and materials at their own pace and according to their unique needs.
A key part of our mission is to empower our entire community. We aim to employ and train local residents to teach at the centre. Which not only builds skills and creates jobs but also ensures that the heart of this project remains rooted in the people of Philippolis.
The Love Philippolis Early Childhood Development Centre (LPECD) will be a place of learning, love, and opportunity. This is the place where we aim to instill values upon which learners can build a more positive future for themselves. With the right support, we can offer our children the best education possible from the very beginning.
