Kleinbegin ECD Centre and Môrester After School Centre are situated on Môrester Estate in the beautiful Koue Bokkeveld in the Eastern Cape. We received an Award of Excellence for being the best preschool out of 37 schools in the area in 2016. In 2018, the school received an award for being in the Top 10 schools out of 41 schools in the area.
In 2014 our first teachers did their training with Shiloh and our preschool classroom changed to a JES classroom. Currently we have 13 preschoolers in our JES Classroom. Their ages range from 3 to 6 years old. We have one teacher in the babies’ classroom, 1 teacher in the toddlers’ classroom and 2 teachers in the JES classroom. We receive excellent feedback from our local primary schools after the children leave for grade 1 from our grd R class. Our pupils excel because of the proper foundation that is laid in their first years.
Our ECD Centre consists of 3 classrooms. We have a classroom for babies from the age of 4 months up to 24 months. Currently we have 6 babies in our care. We have a classroom for toddlers ages 2-3 years old. Currently we have 5 toddlers in our care.The babies and toddlers follow the Leer & Leef curriculum. Our After School Centre looks after 34 pupils between the ages of 6 and 13 years old. Two teachers help them with their homework and projects. We are open during all school holidays. We have holiday programs during school holidays.
We provide breakfast, lunch and freshly baked bread in the afternoons. On Fridays the pupils are treated to dessert.
We strive to give our pupils all the support they need. We work closely with occupational therapists, speech therapists, school psychologists, social workers, ophthalmologists and dentists. We also have our pupils tested if we are worried about their progress. We are very proud of our school and pupils.
