Klipheuwel is a Settlement 15 km outside of Durbanville, Cape Town. There are about 150 homes – formal houses with backyard bungalows and informal houses – which amount to approximately 7000 people. A large number of the community members are unemployed and some also uneducated and/or illiterate, which result in the sense of worthlessness and a feeling of hopelessness when thinking about the future.
The school was built in early 2006, opened its doors on 2 March 2006, and immediately started focusing on transformation projects in the community. The school started out with 30 learners and 5 staff members. Today it has 17 permanent staff members and is registered to educate 170 learners, aged 3 to 6 years.
Our top class JES curriculum teaches the children values and principles that affect the whole community positively.
We currently have 12 teachers and 95 children
